Food and Water Watch, along with Sierra Club, brings us a film about the global peak of conventional crude oil production that has led humans to pursue unconventional and extreme fossil fuel extraction, and the extreme amount of energy and water demanded to produce those unconventional sources. How much energy does it take to make energy? Are we on the “net energy cliff”? If we are at the energy negative production costs, what does it mean for our future and our planet? Is there a new way forward?
“To the Ends of the Earth” follows concerned citizens living at the frontiers of extreme oil and gas extraction, bearing witness to a global crossroads. They call for human ingenuity to rebuild society at the end of the fossil fuel era.
