Event Details

Energy, Sustainability, Resiliency, Micro Grids, Smart Grids, Smart Cities….a confluence of trends in the energy space!

Dan Connors, Chief Operating Officer for Aris Renewable Energy LLC, will present two of their technologies as examples of challenges and solutions. First, an off-grid solar/wind powered streetlight that can also power modest telecom loads to help make the smart city infrastructure resilient. The presentation will focus on how the integration of energy efficiency, solar, wind, energy storage, paired with controls and communications all work as a system and attempt to illustrate how highly distributed power generation is overlaying with today’s IoT and Smart Cities trends.

Secondly, “Fuel Cells” are they a real solution for resilient and sustainability power….or just hype? Dan will give a primer on how fuel cells work, the different types of fuel cell technologies, where they do and do not make sense, and a short “state of the fuel cell industry”.

Bring your own lunch to brownbag event.
