On Nov. 19, 2015, a 5.87-megawatt solar farm officially opened on the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign campus, and it is expected to account for 2 percent campus’ electrical power to be from this renewable source.
As part of fulfilling the project’s goal of providing solar data for research and education, a Solar Farm online dashboard has been created. The website provides hourly information on the array’s energy production and impact to campus.
