Meet Sonali Kumar: Increasing Engagement on Campus

Meet Sonali Kumar, a junior completing her Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. She is also a part of the Sustainability, Energy, and Environment Fellows Program undergraduate minor as well as GFX Sustainability Scholars, and was, therefore, able to get involved with campus sustainability as a member of the Engagement SWATeam.

Kumar has always been passionate about sustainability. She understands that there are so many solutions to the problems we face, but nothing can be done by just one person. Engaging people with these specific solutions creates a stronger impact and more momentum to create long-lasting change.

She joined the team because she wanted to be a part of the major sustainable influences on campus. Kumar looks forward to working with individuals from different backgrounds to make a difference both at our university and on a larger scale globally. She hopes to bring more awareness and get more people interested in learning about sustainable solutions. One of her main goals of working with the team is to have increased engagement at all iSEE public events.

In her free time, Kumar enjoys watching cooking shows, going on walks, ice skating, and spending time with her friends.
