Meet Maiah Caise: Helping Students Get Involved in Sustainability

Meet Maiah Caise, a junior majoring in Agricultural and Biological Engineering, and a student member of the Engagement SWATeam.

Caise got involved with SWATeams by researching various opportunities on the iSEE website. She reached out to seek an available position and decided to join as a member of the Engagement team.

She said has recently come to realize her passion for outreach and wants to help students become more involved in things that inspire and interest them—specifically in regards to sustainability.

“The SWATeams are an amazing way to work as a team to build a meaningful solution that could actually become implemented on our campus,” Caise says. Understanding all of the aspects that need to be considered when proposing a decision is fascinating to her and she is interested in learning about how we can better implement these solutions.

She hopes to amplify the opportunities that there are for students to get involved in sustainability and wants to draw in as many people as possible.

Outside of schoolwork and her SWATeam involvement, Caise enjoys participating in triathlons, cooking for fun, and spending time outside.
