Meet David Rivera-Kohr

davidDavid Rivera-Kohr is a senior studying Biochemistry in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.

Rivera-Kohr joined the Energy SWATeam because of his interest in campus sustainability, and desire to offer carbon-neutral energy alternatives.

“The energy sector is responsible for a large portion of human GHG emissions. We need to transition to carbon neutral or emission free energy or humanity will face crisis,” he said.

The goal of the Energy team is to reduce energy usage and GHG emissions, but he has a personal goal as well.

“I want to start a discussion about using new forms of alternative energy and increase reliance on the ones already in place,” Rivera-Kohr said.

Apart from his SWATeam duties, he is also a researcher in the Biochemistry Department and a member of the algae club.
