Event Details
Early this year, students presented to Urbana City Council and were successful in passing a resolution committing Urbana to work toward achieving net zero emissions by 2040 and 100 percent renewable electricity by 2025. Now, it’s time to bring this movement to Champaign. The time for action on climate change is now. Our future matters, and we will stand up for it.
Students from local high schools will present a Climate Report Card to Champaign City Council on May 8th that grades where the city is at in reducing greenhouse gas emissions in comparison to where scientists say we need to be. They are asking Champaign to pass a resolution that commits the city to the action needed to prevent the worst repercussions of climate change.
Join us in showing the community that we are united and strong in this effort. Wear blue to show you’re with us.
