Held each spring semester, this symposium gives graduate students in the Environmental Engineering and Science (EES) program an opportunity to present their current research to the UIUC community. This year’s theme is The Environmental Challenges of Tomorrow. 

This year, the EES program is delighted to host Dr. Charles N. Haas as the keynote speaker. Dr. Haas is the Department Head and LD Betz Professor of Environmental Engineering at the Department of Civil, Architectural, and Environmental Engineering at Drexel University. Professor Haas received his BS and MS degrees from the Illinois Institute of Technology and Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign in 1978. His research focuses on understanding the human health risks of pathogen exposures as well as developing engineering solutions to mitigate these risks. Professor Haas has received numerous awards in recognition of his research and mentoring.
