25feb12:00 pm1:00 pmReplacing Cars: A Panel on Trains

Event Details

An elucidating conversation about how unique features of American government, businesses, and law intersect with the need for alternative methods of transportation, beyond personal automobiles powered by fossil fuels. The technology and state capability to construct a massive high-speed rail system are certainly available already but we have not seen any widespread adoption here in America, nor even any robust plan to do so. Join us as we ask questions relating to federalism, the urgency of addressing climate change, renewable energy technology, and of course choo-choo trains, of our esteemed guests: Professor Christopher Barkan, Margared Cederoth, Professor Warren Lavey, and Ben Owens of Honewell.
