27jun10:00 amMcKinley Foundation Solar Panel Dedication Ceremony

Event Details

Join University President Timothy Killeen, Senator Scott Bennett and other forward looking policy makers in congratulating the McKinley on the installation of their PV solar panels.  McKinley Foundation built the first LEED certified “green” student housing – Presby Hall – in 2008, complete with a geothermal system to reduce energy consumption.

Last year, Director Kathleen Robbins (recently retired) attended a Faith in Place Solar House of Worship Workshop and saw the opportunity to do more.  Working with Hawk Energy Solutions, she led the effort to replace an aging roof and add solar PV on the south side of the building, facing Daniel Street. McKinley hopes to inspire the campus and faith communities to protect our planet for future generations.

Help us recognize and thank Sen. Bennett and other policy makers for their support of the Future Energy Jobs Act, which will make solar and other renewables a great choice for communities of faith in the years ahead.

Hear how faith communities can lead the way in caring for Earth and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
