This three-hour event will focus on work Climate Modeling (evaluating extreme events, risk assessment in climate models, an overview for the Sandia CLDERA Grand Challenge). It will feature talks from both Sandia and Illinois speakers highlighting ongoing work in this area. The final ~45 minutes of the session will be reserved for focused discussion and brainstorming. In addition to the general advancement of the SNL-Illinois partnership, a desired outcome of the workshop is to identify future areas for collaboration, either through LDRD or external proposals and in the near term, to identify potential internship opportunities for Illinois students to gain experience at Sandia.
